5 Steps To Turn Your Interests Into A Profitable Business

How Dickie Bush Built A 1M+ Business

Today I want to show you a simple process you can follow to scale your side hustle into a 6-figure business.

This is the exact strategy I’m following, inspired by Dickie Bush’s online journey. For context, Dickie started writing online in 2020. He was a former Blockrock trader and quit his job in 2022 to become a full-time entrepreneur.

Over the last few years, he has:

  • Generated 1M+ online

  • Received millions of views

  • Built an audience of 500K+ across all social media platforms

I’m sure this story inspires you as much as it inspires me.

Here’s how you can do the same:

Document your journey on social media

Everything you do every day is content.

It’s evident from Dickie Bush that:

  • You don’t need big wins to have something to share.

  • You don’t need to be a millionaire for people to learn from you.

  • You don’t need to go on a grand vacation to have a story to tell.

You don't need one-of-a-kind experiences to have a story to post.

The mindset shift that set him apart was this:

Most people are on the same journey as you.

You can find great lessons in the simple things.

  • What you learn from daily conversations

  • Your mistakes in trying to achieve a goal

  • Your struggles in starting new endeavors

Dickie Bush applied this principle by documenting whatever he was doing for his personal progress.

When he was learning how to write online, he started a 30-day writing challenge on Twitter.

When he wanted to improve his health, he documented his diet and exercise.

When he was building digital leverage and scaling to 10M, he shared the tactics and mistakes that helped him.

People will listen when you have something valuable to say.

And this will lead to the next step:

Attract like-minded people

Without customers, the business will not exist.

Acquiring customers in today’s generation is not easy, but it's much simpler.

You can reach thousands, if not millions of people through social media.

Sincerity goes a long way. You can network with great people if you give, give, and give (even if you don't have credibility yet).

This is what Dickie Bush and other big creators did:

  • Send a DM when you resonate with someone's content

  • Direct them to a link that will be helpful to their problem

  • Give a helping hand when they are struggling with something

Once you have networked with others, it will be easier to make money by using the next steps:

Determine a problem (that you already solved)

Dickie Bush uses the "two-year test" to determine the problems he encountered.

When he was learning how to write online, he realized one of the hardest things to do:

Start a daily writing habit.

The data told him his audience had the same struggle.

Once he knew the problem, he packaged the solution in a way that would help other people.

This was the birth of his first company: The Ship30for30.

Sell a product or service

Charging money is easy when you can give people what they want.

And there are only a few things they want:

  • Money

  • Good health

  • Relationships

Whatever your topic of interest is, there is a way you can associate it with money, health, and relationships. Your goal is to make it easier and faster for them to achieve a goal.

How you package the solution takes practice. But starting doesn’t have to be complicated.

I started by providing a coaching service using Zoom.

I am now learning how to create landing pages and create digital products.

Once you have something to offer, the opportunities are unlimited.

You can scale using the next step:

Create more

Before Ship30for30 became the thing that it is today, Dickie was only charging $50 to people who wanted to write daily with him.

The point of the challenge was to keep each other accountable. Then, at the end of 30 days, he would give back the money to those who finished the challenge.

Now, he automated almost everything. He added more valuable information and steps that will make everything easier for the customers. Then, he started charging more.

This also led to the start of his other companies with Nicolas Cole.

It's all about improving the product over time.

Once you have built enough trust, you can also start creating more products.

My goal is to earn my first $100k with my first product before I start a new one.
