How I Land Twitter Clients (With Less Time)
5 Steps To Get Client On Autopilot
My biggest struggle as a side hustler is having limited time.
There are too many things to work on:
Finding clients
Creating a product
Building an audience
Improving my writing skills
Consuming new information
The thing that earns me the most money is working with clients.
But finding and landing clients is the most time-consuming.
If I wanted to get more, I need to send as many DMs as I can per day.
Cold DMs work great. I tried it and see many people do it. But I found a better way that works for me.
Here are simple steps that let me land clients without sacrificing other tasks:
Post relevant content
One way to get more clients is by paying for ads.
But I’m not yet willing to invest my money in ads and would rather post organic content.
My goal is to let people know about my coaching and consulting services. The problem is, I don’t want to be too salesy by directly asking them to pay me. If I do, I wouldn’t only be salesy. I would also get zero clients.
Instead, I spend time and effort to gain the trust of my audience. by posting content related to my services, they can read and find value for free. And if they do, they would be interested in buying my paid services.
And here’s how they find out about my paid services:
Create a Calendly link or landing page
I created both a Calendy link and a landing page using Carrd.
You can try Carrd for free or pay $19 per year (which is worth it).
My Calendly link is for my free consulting call (20 minutes) where I give a roadmap on what to do if someone wants to start making money online by writing. There is a link to my calendar so they can choose the time that works. At the end of the call, I asked them if they are interested in getting help with implementation. Then I tell them about the small investment.
The Carrd landing page is the paid coaching call. Again, there is a link to my calendar. But it also directs them to the payment page on Stripe.
I played with using both of these links on my Twitter bio.
I can also directly post these landing pages on social media.
But to make the selling process more subtle, I do the steps below.
Use the Auto-plug feature on Hypefury
Now that I have free valuable content and landing pages, I need to promote more.
I do this by using the auto-plug feature on Hypefury.
How does this work?
Whenever I have a post that does well, Hypefury automatically posts a comment under this tweet. This would be the link to my Calendly link or landing page.
For example, I would post 5 tweets per day and then set the auto-plug to any tweet that gets 10 likes. This would ensure that there are enough people who saw this post. Adding a reply to the comment would also trigger the algorithm to show it to more people.
Get them on a call (or close the deal)
The selling process happens during the call.
The call is the most important part. I want to make sure I provide as much value as I can during the free call so they won’t hesitate to invest in my coaching program.
For my paid service, I tell my clients they can get a refund if they follow all the steps and they don’t get the promised results. This way, I don’t feel guilty about charging. It forces me to deliver value and it gives the client a reason to take action. Win-win.
It takes time and practice to learn all this stuff.
Sometimes, clients will gladly pay. Other times, they will not.
So don’t leave the important part:
Keep improving and adjust as needed
I record the calls every time.
I dedicate time to listening to the recordings afterward.
This is helpful in two ways:
I can tell which areas of the call I need to improve. I also make sure to ask the clients for feedback after the call.
It serves as part of my market research. When clients talk, it is important to carefully listen to their words. During the call, this is sometimes hard because you are thinking of how to answer their questions. But when you take time to listen to the recordings, you’ll understand the problems of the client better. Then, I can modify my services so these pain points can be addressed correctly.
That’s it for today.
